Fair warning before you get too comfortable… I have opinions. On pretty much everything. I wear t-shirts that say so. My LLC is literally called Xtreme Attitude. My first email address was Attitude for Life. This is not a phase.
I’m a third generation single mom from a long line of strong, independent women who figured things out because nobody was coming to figure them out for us. We complained about it entertainingly the whole time. Still do.
My son will tell you he’ll never live up to my expectations.
Neither will I.
We’re both completely fine with that. Really!! 😄
So what am I actually doing here now…
I started this blog years ago covering everything from low carb recipes to road rage rants to my ongoing war against aging — which I am absolutely still fighting and fully intend to win…
But somewhere between the open road and a lot of time alone to think, AI showed up and changed everything.
Not because I went looking for the next tech trend. I’m an ex-computer programmer — I already knew enough about how software works to be appropriately suspicious of it. Programs only run as well as the people who wrote them. People are fallible. And no, before you ask, I will never be okay with AI driving an 80,000 pound truck hauling fuel down a highway at 70mph. Hard. Pass.
But here’s what I WILL use it for…
My best friend has been fighting oral cancer since 2007. When the documents got too scary and too technical for her to process alone, I started running them through AI and translating them into plain English. We’ve asked better questions. Found supplements her doctors approved. Closed the gap between what she was told and what she actually understood.
That’s when I realized… this is what I do. I translate. I bridge the gap. I take complicated things and make them make sense for real people in real situations.
And apparently I’ve been doing it my whole life. I just finally have the right tools.
