Unemployed… Again

I doubt pretty much everything they tell us in the trucking industry!Got up this morning and was waiting for our boss to send us pickup information. Instead, we got a phone call that the company owner was going to shut the Phoenix terminal down.

He says it’s only for about 45 days. But he’s been telling us a ton of stuff since August when the terminal opened that he hasn’t followed thru on, so there’s really no reason to believe that’s going to change now.

So, I’m unemployed again. This isn’t a new thing in the trucking industry. This is what happens.

You interview for a job. They tell you all kinds of things they know you need to hear. You start working for them, hoping you can finally not have to move again. And then you find out all the things they lied about.

This is why I want out of the industry and back to being self-employed full-time! I want the control that I used to have over where, when and how I spend my time!

The good news is, I now have a little time to get ahead of myself with my blog, and to catch up on some reviews that I haven’t finished!

In the meantime, if you need any transcription or basic photo editing done, lemme know and we can talk about costs! I’ll be blogging! LOL

Take care,

  • My Happy Valentine’s Day Gift to Me…

Yes, it’s Valentine’s Day, my sweetheart’s not here (nor has he stopped by or sent a text) and I don’t expect him to be because we’re going through a weird time right now that has us apart.

I got up this morning (ok, so MY morning starts around 2pm so it would technically be afternoon), took a shower, prettied myself up with the usual cocoa butter body oil, my favorite face lotions and makeup (hell, I even took a curling iron to my hair!), just so I could spend the day working on taxes and business stuff!

But this day had a very surprise ending …

The Line Between Keepsakes and Hoarding

I’m in the process of “getting my life together”… as if that’s a surprise right?! The real question is, “What the hell does that mean!?”

For me, that entails quite a few different things. I want more room in my home which requires that I declutter, more time to focus on the things that matter which requires that I get this stuff done, and the peace of mind that when I die, my son knows what the hell is here which requires that I get organized! But I keep putting these things off because life is happening. But this is ABOUT my life so it’s time to get it together!

  • Today’s Giggle Moment – Skulls… Really?

Yeah I know. I might upset a few guys with this. And maybe even a few gals who like having these guys around.

But at what age are you really gonna be ready to give up skulls as your favorite design to have on your t-shirts, jewelry, ball caps or, in today’s experience, on the grill of your big rig?!

I know we all have favorite things. Hell, when I was younger I bought all things Unicorn… but there comes a time when it’s time to hand them off to the younger generation so they can enjoy them too.

    No More Stinky Dish Cloths!!

I finally got a chance to talk to my girlfriend last week and we got talking about dishes and how they suck… Not because we like talking dishes, but because my usual multitasking self was in the middle of washing mine while we were talking.

I told her I’d finally found some wash cloths that clean really well without getting all stinky and smelly within a few days!

  • Running a Business On the Road – Introduction

That’s right. I’m (once again) taking my blog (and my business) on the road. This time with a lot more knowledge and a road map (for the business, not the job… well ok, yes, I’ll have a road map for the job too but that’s a given… I’ll be on the road… stop confusing me!) 🙂

Yes, I have a Class A license and can drive a big rig. I got it back in 2007 when I suddenly decided I wanted to go “play trucker”. Don’t get me wrong. It wasn’t something that just popped into my head out of the blue and no, I wasn’t having a mid-life crisis…
