Your Kids’ Childhood Is Disappearing. Here’s How To Stop It.

Hey there…

When was the last time your kid said something so funny… so perfectly wrong… so completely them… that you thought… I have GOT to remember this…

And then life kept moving… And you forgot…

Mine was my son and the Ninja Turtles. Something about them that he had completely backwards in the most hilarious way possible.

And I cannot for the life of me remember what it was.

It’s gone. Just… gone.

When my son was little… every single piece of artwork he brought home from school went on the living room wall. I’d start on the left… work my way across… then drop down to the next row… all the way across again… and keep going until the wall was full.

Once it was full, I’d take pictures of everything… take it all down… and start over.

Those papers are long gone now. Yellowed. Crumbled.

But I have pictures… somewhere… on a camera… with old school film that had to be developed… and the pictures are still in a box somewhere in my house…

And when my granddaughter was about five or six…

We were talking about litter… you know… trash on the ground… why you don’t do that…

And she looked up at me with the most serious expression and asked…

Is Edwin littering?

Edwin is our cat.

She was connecting litter as in trash… to kitty litter…

And then she goes… But what about when he pukes up a hairball on the floor? Because it’s not in the box. Should it be in the box?

I mean… She’s not wrong??

And I almost lost that story forever. Thankfully, I already had my phone recording video!

Here’s what parents don’t realize until it’s too late…

It’s not just the artwork that’s disappearing…

It’s the sayings… The mispronunciations… The questions that showed you exactly how their little brain was working…

My son has a CRPS, PTSD, and a TBI. The medications for all of that have taken away most of his favorite childhood memories. And I am the keeper of what’s left.

Every parent is one bad day away from being in that position. You don’t have to have PTSD or a TBI to lose your memories. You just have to be human. And humans forget.

There are apps specifically built to hold onto exactly this stuff…

Next week I’m going to walk you through the best ones I’ve found…

Because your kids deserve to look back someday and see exactly who they were…

Even the ones about cat litter…
