I’m gonna tell you something that nobody wants to admit…
We’ve been lied to about money our whole lives.
You’ve heard the saying… money is the root of all evil…
Except that’s not what it says.
The actual quote is… the LOVE of money is the root of all evil…
One word. Completely changes the meaning. And somewhere along the way that one word got dropped and an entire belief system got built on the wrong foundation…
Here’s what I’ve learned about money after living on both sides of it…
Money will make you more of who you already are.
If you’re generous and you give when you have nothing… you’ll be more generous when you have something. If you’re selfish when you’re broke… money will just make you treat people worse.
I remember having a conversation once where someone said… Well you don’t understand because you have money.
And I said… actually I do understand. I’ve been broke. And I’ve made more in a month than I’d made in a year previously. My problems didn’t go away.
I had a tick infestation in my house…
I had a tree fall in my front yard onto my friend’s van…
The difference was I could call somebody.
Same problems. Less stress. Fewer gray hairs and wrinkles.
The co-founder of the company I was with at the time asked me why I was still showing up to meetings in jeans and a t-shirt… why I hadn’t bought a nicer car…
And I told him… one, because I’m a truck girl. I don’t want a Mercedes. I want a home that I own that my son can call home… that he will own someday.
He thought I was leaving money on the table.
I thought I was protecting something more important.
I still do.
Here’s where AI comes into this…
For the first time in a very long time… there is a tool available to regular people that used to only be accessible to people with serious resources.
AI changed that. Not perfectly. But significantly.
The playing field isn’t level yet. But it’s more level than it’s ever been.
Money is a tool. And we’ve been afraid of it for too long.
Time to get your mindset right or even when you make it, you’ll lose it just as fast… ask me how I know!
