That’s right. I said “Abounds“. And if you don’t know what that means then Google it!

Sorry. Was that rude? Yes, it was. And I was being intentionally rude to make a point… it’s NOTICEABLE!

I don’t know whether it’s the baby boomer side of me or the midwestern in me, but people are just ticking me off more and more by their rudeness!

Case in point. Yesterday my son and I went to the grocery store. On the way out, a man that was heading in cut us off so that he could go to his left. Personally, I believe the same rules should apply to foot traffic that apply to vehicles.

Is that just me?

Anyway, because he decided he had the right-of-way, I had to stop a fully loaded grocery cart on a dime to keep from hitting him. It usually doesn’t bug me so much but I fell while I was working last week so my arms, legs and neck are feeling a bit sore and beat up. So, while my son’s making sure I’m ok, this man just continued along on his merry way, oblivious to any issues he may have caused.

So what’s the problem?

Say “Excuse me” … say “Sorry” … say “Get the $*&@ out of my way” … SOMETHING that let’s people know that you’re aware of the fact that you are not the only human being on the planet and that you know how to co-exist and play with others. Whether you know how to place “nice” is irrelevant to me.

I know people are stressed. I know they’re feeling overwhelmed. I know they have their own deadlines and personal issues going on in their lives. How do I know this? Because I have them too!

That doesn’t make it OK to take it out on the world around you and become so self-centered that you won’t even notice if you run over an 80-year-old lady with your cart!

Geez!

p.s. Am I the only one who feels this way? Do you find rude people annoying or are you one of those people who are more able to “go with the flow”?
