Lots of Supplements But a Few MUST Haves!
MUST Have Supplements

I take quite a few supplements at this point in my life because I want to avoid many of the “as you get older” issues that so many people face. Will they work? I don’t know. But doing nothing doesn’t seem like much of an alternative so…

What I do know is that, while I do take a lot of supplements, there are certain ones that I take without fail, no matter how much of a hurry I’m in!

Netrition has Russell Stover Sugar Free Chocolates!!
Russell Stover Sugar Free Candy

As I mentioned yesterday, I recently ordered low carb bagels from Netrition.com. I like using them because the prices are typically lower than what I find at Amazon, and they have a flat shipping rate of $4.99 no matter how much I order.

Today, I was looking at online prices for Russell Stover Sugar Free candies.

Low Carb Bagels? Yes! (And Only 2 Net Carbs)

I’ve been eating low carb for a while (I signed up for a 90-Day Low Carb Challenge) and people in that group are always looking for good places to find things that are low carb AND tasty… they’re not always easy to find.

So, a couple weeks ago, my mentor (and low carb friend) mentioned that she had ordered some Great Low Carb Bread Company bagels from Netrition to test out the flavor, as well as whether it would make her stall (for you carb-eating folks, that means you stop losing weight).

Hungry, Bored, or Just Entertaining My Taste Buds?
Staring into the fridge

How sad is it to realize that, at my age, I have NO idea how to tell if I’m actually hungry.

What I DO know is that it’s time to figure it out if I wanna stay healthy and not gain weight every year, just because I’m a year older!

First, there’s the “I want something, but I have NO idea what!” kind of hunger.

I’m NO Spring Chicken!
Sleeping WAY too many hours

I slept 18 hours Friday night and another 14 last night. I remember when those days happened by choice, not as a necessity to recover from my job!

It’s time to get consistent again so I can move towards my goal of getting off the truck and back to working from the comfort of home!

Intermittent Fasting – Decision Day
EatSmart Bath Scale

How appropriate… The day I decide it’s time to start on this whole intermittent fasting plan, my starting weight is 166.6!

I have some specific goals, such as getting my weight down, lowering my cholesterol, slowing down perimenopause hot flashes, healthier skin and hair, and having more energy.

The main question being… is it possible to do this while I’m on the road working?

Healthy Choices for 2014
Healthy Life

I’ve never been one to set New Year’s Resolutions. I mean really, when you’re out enjoying the holiday parties, who wants to spend time thinking about how you’re going to make the next year of your life better (and typically by restricting what you do)?!

But… having said that, I am one of those people who prefers to be proactive about my health rather than wait till something bad happens… that whole “preventive medicine” thing! …

Genetically Modified Foods… Enough Already!
Monsanto Corn cob

Today’s notable news for me in regards to eating healthy arrived in the form of a G+ post about Monsanto, GMO foods, and the crap that Monsanto’s been creating.

Yes, I said crap.

And I’m guessing that Monsanto will never want to advertise on my blog. I promise you, I won’t lose one bit of sleep over it! …
